This section will give you info on the canal venues. 12/10/09 Canal NewsOur match sec. has organised matches in November 2009 on large sections of our clubs lengths of the narrow canal in conjunction with Mirfield ac, the first being Sunday 1st November. Others are planned in November and December so check dates that will be posted on the website and on posters on the canal if you are planning a pleasure trip around these times as the club will not allow pleasure fishing on any lengths being used on the day. Sorry for any inconveinience but remember we have plenty of other locations for you to try. Regards Dave (on behalf of the club committee) We have recently stocked 100 carp and 1200 chub into the canal around Titanic Mill. There are 500 bream coming too when the water temp has dropped sufficiantly for them to be healthy after transferal. This has been acheived by monies supplied from the organised matches held in the last 12 months by our match sec. and a donation from the club voted in by the committee. The carp and chub are small but in large numbers will show in the next 2-5 years in better size and do well for the future of the canal matches. The club now as the lease for the whole of the canal from Lockeepers all the way up to Bridge 61 which is the bridge that carries the railway over the canal at Marsden. |
