Slaithwaite and District Angling Club is based In Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Established in 1884, Slaithwaite and District

Angling Club are Members of the

Angling Trust and Fish Legal,

The Yorkshire Fisheries Consultative Association

and the Wild Trout trust

Current Membership of the Club is

approximately 300 anglers

The Club holds the fishing rights on numerous

waters including several reservoirs ponds and

Dams, The Huddersfield Narrow Canal from

Marsden to Milnsbridge and

Trout and Grayling fishing on the Rivers Colne and Holme

At the AGM the members and Committee voted in favour of doing away with the second rod permit, so all members can now fish with up to two rods with their basic membership book on all coarse fishing still waters. You will still need a further rod permit if you wish to fish with three rods at Hill Top Reservoir, the only club water where more than two rods are permitted.

It was also passed that children under the age of twelve can now obtain a Club Permit free of charge from any of our usual outlets.


We are continuing with our FACEBOOK PHOTO COMPETITION, where you could win a free membership for the 2020/21 season.

Just post your photographs of fish caught on Slaithwaite Angling club waters with details of where and when your catch was taken. Ideally include a recognisable background as confirmation of where you caught your fish.

This competition is open to both annual members and to day ticket anglers.

The closing date for the competition is 31st December 2019 the committee will then award one entrant with a free membership for the 2020/2021  season.

THE WEDNESDAY FISHING CLUB will start to meet again in MAY 2019

Both MEMBERS AND NON MEMBERS will be welcome to join in, (Day Tickets will be available to purchase on the day.)

The idea is to encourage anglers to meet together and share their skills, thoughts and ideas.
