The various stretches of the canal in this area  are known by the following names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11 to 12:Lock-keepers or Leitch’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12 to 13:John Lockwoods (Swing Bridge or Aqueduct)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13 to 14:Ramsden Mill Pond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14 to 15:Appleyards<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15 to 16:Rabbit Pond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

16 to 17:Reed Pond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17 to 18:Cotton’s length<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18 to 19:Bucket. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

19 to 20:Mickle Pond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20 to 21:Slaithwaite Sewerage Length <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Canal has had many thousands of coarse fish introduced over the years, particularly Roach, Bream, Carp and Chub. The canal also contains Perch, Pike and the odd Tench. Lots of Rudd and Crucian carp have also been introduced but these rarely show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2014\/2015
Cottons pond<\/strong> was stocked with 100 Carp (4 to 6 inches) and 1,500 mixed fish (Roach, Perch and Bream 4 to 6 inches).
Reed Pond<\/strong> was stocked with 100 Carp (4 to 6 inches) and 2,500 mixed fish (Roach, Perch and Bream 4 to 6 inches).
Rabbit Pond <\/strong>was stocked with 1,000 mixed fish (Roach, Perch and Bream 4 to 6 inches).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day Tickets are available for all stretches of the canal<\/p>\n\n\n\n
